Hey All
Bad Boy Raghu is back!!!. Apologies for the delay in responding to the blog. Let me begin with my experience of Re-union.
What can I say about our Re-U
I was only too happy to See U
It was a moment to relive our Youth
To me, this was the real Truth
20 years of life experience has made us mature
This hasn’t ended yet, so continues… this tenure
Hats off to the organisers who rose from their ranks
Not only to make this a great success, but also put up with our pranks
For me this was an Act of Grace
To bring us all together in this world of Rat race
Surprised to hear some of our kids are budding lawyers, physicians and engineers today
However their moms still appeared pretty as they walked through my way
Whilst some of the boys appeared to hide their hairs turning gray
Oh boy!!! We were no match to the attractive girls of our class… No bloody way
The program started at Indian Standard Time i.e. an hour or so late
But to us, with all the excitement, it was still worth the wait
To stay still for the photo shoot remained the most difficult task
Meeting each other after such a long time, we had so many questions to ask
Ever pretty Banu introduced the guests to the stand
The noise that followed, reminded us of a rock and roll band
Panagal hall was deafening with cries, excitement and laughter
No wonder some of us had sore throats for a long time after
Dr. Narasimhan’s speech (as usual) did send us all for a short little snooze
Many thanks to Pravin for arranging the traditional onsite Booze
Dr. Rao reminded us all of how great was the KMC Spirit
It was time for us to pay back, the things that we tried to inherit
Prabhakar was renamed “Deiva Nayagam” for all his efforts with the meet
It was acknowledged with applause, shrieks and a long greet
As we dispersed to return for the next day
Our next stop over was at Breeze hotel, is there any other way?
The chatting and laughter continued till midnight
Quoting bar rules, we were asked to leave without a fight.
Most of us spent the night rolling in our beds and couldn’t get to sleep
The excitement the next day had to offer, was running through our minds very deep
Next day we converged at KMC to explore what is out there
At MGM, we were promised a lot of excitement for us to share
The bus trip reminded us all of our golden years we spent together
Singing, dancing, drinking, laughing and joking, things that we loved to do forever and ever
The bus had to make unscheduled stops since some of us wanted to pee.
The beers and enlarged prostates showed our ages, what a pathetic sight to see!!!
At MGM, room allocation was followed by lunch as per schedule
To organise outdoor sports in such a hot weather, would have been a matter of ridicule
Plus over the years we had grown too fat
To handle and run with the bat
So instead we chose to cool down in our rooms
But soon these rooms came out with funny fumes
Evening session started off with another photo session
To remain sober was never in our mission
Murali, Mohanan, Priscilla, Dillara and Jayalakshmi took us down the memory lane
Jeyam’s photo presentation proved us how some of us still remain insane
Thanks to Raghunath for managing the bar that evening
For some of us this was just the beginning
Dinner was followed by music and dance
To continue this beyond midnight, there was never any chance
Banu’s dance was by far the best, decided by popular boys vote
However Kumaresan’s Turkish Belly dancing was really worth a quote
Kids of Jeyam and Guna stole the show
Despite protests, by midnight all of us had to go
We desperately wanted the night to go on and on
Cos all the fun would have vanished by the crack of Dawn
We badly wanted to stay awake the whole night
But age and the drinks had taken its toll; we couldn’t put up a fight
Come morning as we got ready to go back to our way of lives
Desperately, we offered good byes to all we met and said our high fives
As we look forward to meeting again in the next few years, we felt so bad
2 days was never enough, we didn’t get to talk enough and this was so sad
Now as I lay in my bed reminiscing what the re-union was all about
Those days of our lives that we shared were the best without a shadow of doubt
The laughter, fun and innocence we had will never be the same
The experience of our lives, has shown us life is still a dirty game
Rest In Peace
